Privacy Policy

Horizon Avenues helps businesses automate their processes, which often means working with business information. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Who we are

Horizon Avenues is a business process automation consultancy based in Queensland, Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Horizon Avenues. You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to you and deliver our services. This may include:

We don't intentionally collect sensitive information, such as health information. If a project involves sensitive information, we'll agree how it's handled with the client in writing before work begins. You can deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym where that's practical, though we'll usually need your contact details to respond.

3. How we use it

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, run Process Reviews, prepare proposals, deliver and support projects, send invoices, improve our website, and meet our legal obligations. We won't use it for unrelated purposes without your consent, and we never sell personal information.

If we send you occasional updates, every email will include a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

FOR CLIENTS

4. Your business data during a project

When we build automation for you, we may need access to your systems. We treat that information as yours, and we:

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, such as Google (email, calendar and booking), our website hosting provider, analytics tools, accounting software, and the automation or AI platforms used in a client's project. They may only use it to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information where required by law.

6. Overseas storage

Some of our providers store data outside Australia, most commonly in the United States. Where possible, we choose Australian data regions. When information is stored overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the provider protects it to a standard consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. How we protect it

We use reasonable security measures, including multi-factor authentication, strong unique passwords, encrypted services and least-privilege access. We keep personal information only as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected or as required by law, then securely delete it. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we'll notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and analytics to understand how visitors use it. This data is used in aggregate to improve the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our booking page is provided by Google, and Google's own privacy policy applies to information you enter there.

9. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
